Take two lambswool fleeces. . .

. . . pick, wash, card, spin, ply, set the twist, and voila! it's just that easy!  You've got 14 skeins, 58 ounces, 1624 yards of gorgeous medium grey yarn just begging to be used!

This was a special order for a friend of mine that began almost nine months ago.  Beginning with the shearing of two lambs that had been born black and quickly changed over to grey, I acquired a fiber that shaded the entire white-to-black gradient in no less than 5 inches.  Shetland sheep provide such a range and depth of color that I've never had the need to dye.  I blend natural colors to create heathers and shades that could never be chemically reproduced.
